A Leaf in my Norwegian Tree

Introduction

Hello, I have spent much time studying my ancestors in Norway. My goal has been to bring back life to those who have come before me. They have stories to tell and wish to be remembered. If I don't record their stories, then who will?

My greatest wish is to meet relatives, close or distant, and share my knowledge and treasures in return for learning your stories and seeing your treasures from the past. I especially love to collect copies of old pictures, letters, or documents!  This site specifies 4 main farms I descend from on my grandmother's side in Baerum and my grandfather's side in Østfold.  Maybe you are also a descendant?

Jonette Kristoffersdatter Jordbærhaugen  (1853 - 1921) and
Olaus Kristensen
Jordbærhaugen (1846-1915)

Jonette and Olaus were from Baerum, Lommedalen, Norway.  They moved to Jordb
ærhaugen farm circa 1883.  They had ten children: Kristian, Einar, Kristen, Anton, Nils, Paula, Gunda, Peder, Margit, and Jenny.

Kristian Olausen
Jordbærhaugen married Gustava Jonsen Bye, and they are my great-grandparents.  Two of Kristian's brothers left for America -- Kristen and Nils.  Kristen lived and died in North Dakota.  His name in North Dakota was Christen Olausen Haug, whereas Nils first went to North Dakota but then moved to Saskatchewan, Canada.  Nils later moved to Prince George in British Columbia.  He was known as Nels Olausen.  I have recently learned a little about Margit, Paula, and Jenny.  I hope to learn more about all the Jordbærhaugens and their descendants as well.
